May 11/12, 2018 Placentia Area Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce its sixth annual Age Friendly Fair and Exhibition is scheduled for Friday, May 10 and Saturday May 11, 2018 at Unity Park Arena, Placentia.. . Placentia Area Chamber of Commerce (PACC) is aiming to bring youth, seniors and their families together with its sixth annual Placentia Bay Age Friendly Fair and Exhibition. . . The main role of the Age Friendly Fair is to find ways and means of responding to people's needs and promoting healthy aging for them and their families. It will build bridges and partnerships and match the needs of people with products and services available in the Avalon Region market place.. . The Avalon Region, like all communities in Canada, is experiencing an aging population. As this segment of our community increases it is very important that the Placentia Area Chamber of Commerce with its community based partners support all citizens. The whole Avalon benefits from everyone having an opportunity to participate, making each community a better place for everyone. . For residents of all ages, whether in central or remote communities, the Fair will identify challenges, opportunities and solutions for seniors, youth, and their families as they age. There will be presentations by a range of businesses and different health organizations who will also be displaying their goods and products relevant to all ages. The first 150 guests will receive a free bag stuffed with lots of goodies. . In addition, the Fair will include a Home and Garden section, Fine Arts and Crafts section, Talent Show, a Traditional Kitchen Cuisine, Seniors Recognition Award, and a session on "Why is it never too late to become an entrepreneur - you're never too old for an Internship or a New Venture". Alongside these events, the PACC will provide opportunities for individuals to exchange ideas and knowledge, as well as sharing information on fitness, medical, health, wellness, recreation, and much more.
