Detailed description is This group supports the Music Programs at the Allendale Public Schools through various fundraisers and community events. Who are we?. The APS Music Boosters are parents, alumni and friends of band and choir students in the Allendale Middle School and High School. All are welcome! The objective of the Music Boosters is to be an advocate for music in the school system and in the community. The Music Boosters provide funds to assist with maintenance of uniforms, scholarships and to purchase instruments and miscellaneous equipment when possible. The Music Boosters also assist financially with major band or choir trips and provide chaperones and transportation services for these trips when needed.. . . . Why be involved?. Many hands make light work! In order for the organization to help as needed, we need parents and students to be involved. There are many ways to be involved as a volunteer whether you are interested in committing large amounts of time or are able to assist at specific events.We can use your donation of time, energy and ideas.. . . . Why are we trying to raise money?. Part of the mission of the Allendale Music Boosters is to assist financially when needed. When funding cuts were made this winter, the middle and high school piano accompanist's salaries were eliminated. The Music Boosters stepped in to help with this. Scholarships are provided every summer for two senior music students. Three high school music experience scholarships are also awarded each summer. Financial assistance is awarded to students for camps and trips.. . . . Fundraising sales and work sessions are scheduled to give families opportunities to save money for music camps, trips and music necessities. This money is saved in a student account. Fundraising activities are also scheduled to raise money for the Music Booster general fund to be used for the items listed earlier.. . . . Why should you be trying to raise money NOW?. When you participate in fundraising events the money distributed into your student's account can be used for a music-related activity such as marching band camp, choir retreat, a summer music experience such as Interlochen or Blue Lake, instrument repair or supplies, or the BIG band and choir trip that happens every four years.. . . . When and where do we meet?. We meet the second Tuesday of every month from September through May in the high school band or choir room at 7:00pm.. . . . Who to contact with questions?.
