Detailed description is The Eta Gamma Chapter of Alpha Delta Pi is a sorority at APSU located in the beautiful state of Tennessee. Alpha Delta Pi was founded on May 15, 1851 at Wesleyan Female College in Macon, GA and was installed in Austin Peay’s campus in 1983. Alpha Delta Pi, originally called The Adelphean Society, is known for being the first secret society for women. The founders created The Adelphean Society for the "mental, moral, social, and domestic improvement of its members". Today there are more than 140 active collegiate chapters with over 215,000 women.. . Alpha Delta Pi’s National Philanthropy is the Ronald McDonald House Charities. Alpha Delta Pi’s all over the country have worked hard to raise over $2 million dollars for the Ronald McDonald House. There are 271 Ronald McDonald Houses in 30 countries that house families and children who have illnesses or serious injuries so that they are in a close proximity to hospitals. The Eta Gamma Chapter of Alpha Delta Pi also visits the Ronald McDonald House in Nashville, TN every month to cook meals, socialize with residents, and help with any other tasks that need to be done.. . In addition to these nationally sponsored philanthropies, the Eta Gamma Chapter of Alpha Delta Pi also is involved in Breast Cancer Walks, nursing home visits, Trash Pick-ups, and Camp Rainbow, a camp for terminally ill children.
