Detailed description is The University of Oklahoma Student Chapter of the American Society for Microbiology (ASM) "The ASM is the world's largest scientific society of individuals interested in the microbiological sciences. The mission of the American Society for Microbiology is to advance the microbiological sciences as a vehicle for understanding life processes and to apply and communicate this knowledge for the improvement of health and environmental and economic well being worldwide." - taken from the mission statement of the ASM website.. . As a student group, we wish to uphold these desires and ideals to promote critical thinking among all individuals and students. In order to do this, we are not only limiting our focus to those who wish to pursue a future career in Microbiology, but to all individuals who are interested in discussing relevant topics, many of which relating to science and Microbiology (of course). . .
