Detailed description is BRAED is a group of 29 communities, 5 affiliate members, and 16 associate members in east-central Alberta Located approximately 100 kms SouthEast of Edmonton, Alberta, the BRAED region has a population of more than 64,000 residents and easy access to major highways. BRAED's main source of income is from annual municipal and affiliate membership fees and government funding. . . BRAED's corporate structure consists of a Board of Directors comprised of . one appointee from each member. The Board of Directors elects an Executive . Committee comprised of seven members who in turn select the President . (Chair), Vice-President (Vice Chair), Secretary/Treasurer. A manager administrator, and various support organizations are part of the overall . organization support structure.. . BRAED’s five core activities are:. 1. Information sharing - To provide BRAED members with tools, education and other customized intelligence to support economic development.. . 2. Promotion - To build awareness of and promote BRAED’s value-added services to its members and other jurisdictions.. . 3. Service delivery - To provide BRAED members with vehicles for delivering . information, expertise and support to their clients and customers.. . 4. Advocacy - To establish awareness of BRAED issues and initiatives among . provincial and federal government officials.. . 5. Maintain excellence in governance and operations - To continue to excel in . operations and services.. . BRAED launched an Ambassador's Program in 2012. The first group of Ambassadors was inducted by Bud James, Chair of the BRAED Regional Alliance. Each new Ambassador was formally recognized and given a set of information and tools that will help them promote the region as a place to invest, and to start and grow a business.. .
