Detailed description is To provide grave markers for the departed who do not have them, those who not afford them, restore and clean forgotten cemeteries and preserve our legacy. Ecclesiastes 6:3 tells us: “A man may have a hundred children and live many years; yet no matter how long he lives, if he cannot enjoy his prosperity and does not receive proper burial, I say that a stillborn child is better off than he. 4 It comes without meaning, it departs in darkness, and in darkness its name is shrouded.” . . . While going to visit a local cemetery in the Youngstown, Ohio area, what I found was a disappointing sight – a run-down, dilaidated cemetery with crumbling buildings. Even more disappointing were a few plastic and cardboard temporary markers for a few graves. But these hartless plastic markers had been there for almost 2 1/2 years. When I went back a few months later, hoping some repairs had been made, and the cemetery had been cleaned. But, I found it still in poor shape, and some of the temporary markers gone - leaving the graves unmarked.. . I did research a few of the names on the temporary markers, and found that two of the deceased were murder victims, victims of a home invasion in late 2009. The final indignity is laying in unmarked graves.. . On a more recent visit to this cemetery, I did speak to a gentleman who was there, visiting the graves of his parents and wife. He also is the volunteer caretaker for the cemetery, and cuts the grass and does what he can to maintain this cemetery. I spoke with him abut the unmarked graves, and he told me that there are a lot of unmarked graves there.. . Why are we letting our departed lay in unmarked graves?
