The high school serves students in downtown areas of Beaufort and Port Royal in addition to students living on Lady's Island and St. Helena Island. The school served 1,328 students in the 2013-2014 school year down from a reported 1,462 students in the 2011-2012 school year.AcademicsAccording to data released by the South Carolina Department of Education, Beaufort High School earned a "B" letter grade for the 2012-2013 school year, exceeding academic expectations put forth by the state in standardized testing and graduation accomplishment.
