Detailed description is I am a full time fishing guide service representing Lake Shelbyville and Lake Mattoon in East Central Illinois. Crappie, walleye and white bass. The founder and Guide of Birdman Guide Service, Tyler Brandenburg, established this business in 2012 on Lake Shelbyville. However, he has been fishing Lake Shelbyville and Lake Mattoon for over 20 years. His guide service is based on the belief that customers' needs are of utmost importance. He will give his best effort to make your trip with him an enjoyable one and one you won't soon forget! Come enjoy a day on beautiful Lake Shelbyville or Lake Mattoon with Tyler and learn the little things that will make you a more successful fisherman on your favorite body of water!. . Crappie fishing is by far his specialty. February, March, April, and May offer great opportunities for lots of big, slab crappie to be caught; several techniques can be used to catch them during this time. During the summer months of June, July, and August, don't let the heat fool you into thinking the fishing is done. The crappie fishing is arguably the best of the year with some real fast action, a great time for kids! Mid September through ice on the lake (if any), is when the crappie fishing begins to be outstanding again. The months of October, November, and December are phenomenal times to fish! . . In addition to the excellent crappie fishing, the walleye population on Lake Shelbyville has skyrocketed, allowing anglers to target them and harvest them at a fairly high rate during the key months of mid April, May, and early June. They are always a nice, relaxing change from the crappie fishing and offer some of the best table fare available!
