Detailed description is Bitwa pod Devil's Hole zwana też bitwą u ujścia rzeki Niagary miała miejsce dnia 14 września 1763 r. w trakcie Powstania Pontiaka.Walkę stoczyła grupa 300-500 Seneków, na czele których stał słynny Sayengeraghta z plemienia Irokezów. Dnia 14 września Indianie przygotowali zasadzkę przy przepaści zwanej Czarcią Jamą niedaleko wodospadów Niagara. Wkrótce pojawił się tu konwój brytyjski składający się z 25 wozów zaprzężonych w konie i woły zmierzający od Fortu Shlosser do Fortu Niagara. Konwój eskortowała grupa 30 żołnierzy brytyjskich z oficerem na czele. Nadchodzących Brytyjczyków przywitała salwa z muszkietów, po czym Senekowie przypuścili atak. Walka przemieniła się w masakrę, Anglicy ginęli od ciosów kolb i tomahawków a zwierzęta spadały w przepaść. Zaledwie dwóm ludziom udało się schronić w gęstwinie i ujść z życiem.Z pomocą Anglikom ruszyły zaalarmowane strzałami dwie Kompanie 80 Pułku Piechoty . Grupa ta dostała się w kolejną zasadzkę w odległości 1 mili od Czarciej Jamy. Już pierwsza salwa Seneków powaliła połowę oddziału. Reszta starła się wręcz z atakującymi wojownikami. Zaledwie kilku z nich udało się ujść z pogromu. Zginęło 5 oficerów i 67 żołnierzy, których oskalpowano i odarto z mundurów. 8 Brytyjczyków odniosło ciężkie rany.
