Detailed description is Restoring history in the Black Hills one creation at a time. . . Handcrafted furniture and decor made from 100+ year old authentic and local barnwood. Founded in my backyard in 2015, Black Hills Barnwood Creations came to fruition after I discovered the true beauty that time and weather give to wood. Following the collapse of an 1800’s blacksmith barn on my grandparent’s property I had a plethora of beautifully aged barnwood. My first project was a sturdy bench with a Chevrolet tailgate back and endless amounts of character. I was hooked. With great pride, I handcrafted something out of nothing and had before me a piece of Black Hills history that I will always keep close to my heart. From start to finish, I had fallen in love with the whole process. The bench gleamed with loads of character. The hand-forged nails, circle saw marks, and distinct branding iron markings deserve the credit. . . Black Hills barnwood comes from a time when people took pride in their work and stood behind it, which is what I strive to bring back. I have a passion for the natural beauty of aged wood and absolutely hate seeing it go to waste. Weathered and salvaged wood bear a timeworn patina and character that make every piece unique, rustic and of course, one of a kind! . . I take great pride in all of my work and personally guarantee that every piece is built to last.
