Detailed description is The Block of Art is a weekend long annual free art show set in downtown Pottsville, PA held to help promote the arts in and around Schuylkill County. The Block of Art is a three day arts and cultural event that has expanded since its inception in 2007 as a gallery show to include participants from visual arts, performance arts, fashion design, music, pottery and the decorative and floral arts. This year we will host an art auction to benefit the Block of Art and the Sovereign Majestic theater, poetry readings, musical performances, and a showcase of local student art. This program is brought to you through partnerships with Schuylkill County Vision and the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts.
