Kiedy Clyde został skazany na dwa lata więzienia, Bonnie przeszmuglowała pistolet do jego celi pomagając mu w ucieczce. Clyde został wkrótce ponownie zatrzymany i przewieziony do surowszego więzienia State Prison at Eastham, znanego jako Burning Hell (tłum. płonące piekło).
