Detailed description is Breeder of Connemara Ponies and Connemara crosses. Growing up in a military family limited my horse ownership to Breyer model horses. It wasn't until marriage, and the arrival of two daughters, that I was able to invest in my dream of riding and breeding my own horses.. . Both of my daughters participated in United States Pony Club, and loved eventing. They also enjoyed cubbing with the local foxhunt. The Connemara Pony could do it all, with a high rate of success.. . Once we bought land, we began looking for ponies to purchase for a breeding program. We started with Welsh and Connemara mares, and over time focused on the Connemara, which proved to be the most versatile for both adults and children interested in multiple disciplines.. . Over time we were able to purchase two of *Grange Finn Sparrow's offspring, a filly and a gelding. Owen, the gelding, has been competed by my daughter, Megan Buchanan Harris, through the Preliminary/CIC* level in eventing, and they plan to move up to Intermediate in the near future. The performance lines that we so admire are hard to find here in the US, so we have gone a step further in our program, and have chosen several weanlings to import from Ireland to compliment and strengthen our stock.
