Detailed description is I am running for council because I am passionate about Parkland County and I want to see it continue to thrive! I am running for council because I am passionate about Parkland County and I want to see it continue to thrive!. . . I am dedicated to ensuring responsible and accountable fiscal management. The number one concern that residents expressed in the recent resident's survey was lower taxes and cost of living and the second concern was road maintenance. Unfortunately, it is almost impossible to continually lower taxes while increasing services but that means that finances need to be used effectively. Council needs to ensure that there is a strong value proposition associated with taxes. Residents need to feel that they are benefiting from the taxes that they are paying. . . . I also want to increase engagement and transparency with residents. I want to be able to meet with residents in their homes to discuss what is important to them so that I can make informed decisions based on resident's needs. I also want residents to know what I am doing for them. They should not have to attend every council meeting or read a 100-page report to have an understanding of what I am doing for them. I would ensure that residents are receiving reports directly from me updating them on my activities. I want to create two-way communication between council and residents.. . . Compared to the rest of council I am very new to Parkland County but this is a benefit. I am not running for council because I have a personal issue that I want addressed. I am coming into the race without any biases to the way that the county operates. The scariest words ever uttered in an organization are "this is how we have always done things". While I do not rush for change I embrace the need to constantly adapt and I do not allow myself to let the past interfere with the future.. . . Peter Drucker, a famous management consultant, has been quoted as saying "stop solving problems and pursue opportunities". We need to address problems quickly and efficiently and then look forward and grasp on to the opportunities around us.. . . The need to focus on the future has never been more vital as significant economic changes loom on the horizon. Ultimately, I want to use my professional experience to work with residents to see that Parkland County thrives now and into the future no matter what obstacles we may face.
