Brighton Feed and Saddlery has been the place to go since it started as Brighton Feed & Farm Supply in 1943 when the thrust was livestock, dairy, feed and poultry. The original owner, Clyde Peterson, was a rodeo man. A strong advocate of fairs and youth programs, he was on the committee to organize the Adams County Fair and Rodeo. He co-produced the Table Mountain Rodeos and operated the store until 1971, leaving a fine legacy and a sound name for Brighton Feed and Farm Supply.. . The current owners, Roger and Verna Allgeier, moved from a ranching operation in southern Arizona to purchase the facility in 1973, with the full intention of building a fine tack and saddle shop. The couple has seen many changes in the last 36 years. Their local area has grown from a mostly rural farming and ranching community to an area of small horse acreages.
