Detailed description is Buttercup Farm is a small Raw Milk dairy farm located in Sterling, Connecticut. Buttercup Farm is located in the quiet corner of CT, just 5 minutes from the Rhode Island border. The farm is home to a herd of Guernsey and Jersey cows that spend most of the day meandering through the pasture or resting under the tall trees. Megan Johnson, the milk-maid, prides herself in giving each one of her cows what they need to be happy and produce exceptionally clean and wholesome raw milk. This means letting them out to graze everyday and feeding them grass and dry hay with as small a focus on feedinging concentrates as needed to keep each cow in condition. The cows come in for milking twice daily, during this time they get brushed and receive a spray down of apple cider vineager to keep the flies to a minimum. At time of milking each cow gets a scoop of grain and a sprinkle of dehydrated sea kelp and yeast. Milking is pretty quick and before you know it they are back outside.
