Detailed description is After pursuing degrees in plant science and natural resource management, we are eager to own and family operate a cacao processing facility and small-scaled diversified farm. The most recent report in 2009, submitted by the Hawaiʻi Department of Agriculture, stated that there were an estimated 50 acres of cacao in production statewide, with an estimated 3000 acres of suitable land for cacao production. Currently, there are only a handful of companies who process the cacao. Therefore, we see a strong need for consistent production of high-quality cacao and our farm is looking forward to learning more about the unique processes to farming, harvesting, and processing the beans that craft the terroir unique to Hawai`i Cacao.
