The Bank Holiday events have raised over £25k so far and 2018 looks to be just as successful. . The Sunshine Events – Wootton, North Lincs. . . The Sunshine Sponsored Walk was created last year and was originally put together as a one off event to raise money in memory of Wendy Lindley and continue her fight against cancer. Due to the massive success of the 2016 event and such amazing support from the local community, businesses and beyond, the Sunshine Walk team have decided to get together again and raise money for various breast cancer charities and local cancer charities.. . The organisers were inspired to create the Sunshine Walk in Wootton as they have taken part in the Walk the Walk London Moonwalk before and wanted to expand their fundraising further and create an event that children can participate in locally. In 2016 the first idea of a children’s sponsored walk grew into 2 events in the same day and over 13K raised! . . This years event will have all the same attractions and more but will have a Scottish flavour due to the fact that this year the organisers are not only taking part in the London Moonwalk but also the Scottish Moonwalk. . . In addition to the Sunshine Walk family fun day and evening of live music entertainment, the organisers have also added another event. On the evening of Friday 28th April, the first Moonwalk Wootton will take place, where we hope to bring the spirit of the larger Moonwalks to Wootton. She put her dream in to reality and power walked the New York Marathon with 12 friends.
