Detailed description is Located on Route 6, just a few 100 feet south of the Post Office. Parking is in back of the Post Office. Summer services June - September 7:30 and 9:30. The Chapel of St. James the Fisherman, a summer chapel which runs from June through September was built in 1956 on land given by Mr. and Mrs. Carey Melville and Mrs. Melville Arnold. The chapel expresses the spirit of Wellfleet in its materials and design. The shingled steeple above the altar is glimpsed among the pine trees from the Cape Highway, Route 6, and can be seen from Cape Cod Bay. Light floods the altar from concealed skylights, illuminating the center of the Holy Table.. . Services are at 7:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. The 9:30 service has music during the months of July and August.
