My wife Melissa Hilton Caughman is from D’Lo. My 3 kids are Cade, 18 years old and a freshman at Co-lin Community College in Wesson, Abby, 15 years old and a sophomore at Simpson Academy, and Bryce, 14 years old and in the 8th grade at Simpson. I am a 1985 graduate of Simpson County Academy, a 1987 graduate of Co-lin Community College, and a 1989 graduate of Belhaven College with a BA in History. I was a high school basketball coach and teacher for 10 years at East Rankin Academy in Pelahatchie and also at Simpson Academy. In 1999 I began my career in the banking industry as a loan officer at Trustmark and worked there for 5 years as a consumer and small business lender. In 2003 I moved to Peoples Bank as a commercial lender and today I am Senior Vice President and also on the management committee as well as still serving our community as a commercial lender for Peoples Bank. As a banker I have graduated from Ole Miss School of Banking, The LSU Graduate School of Banking, The Southeastern School of Commercial Lending, and also The SMU Southwest Graduate School of Banking.. . I have served on many boards and community leadership organizations. I have served as President of the Magee Lion’s Club, President of the Mendenhall Chamber of Commerce, President of the Simpson County Economic Development Foundation, and President of the Simpson County Academy School Board. I have also served on the Magee Chamber of Commerce Board, the Simpson County YMCA Board, the Simpson County Ducks Unlimited Committee, the Simpson County Youth Leadership Executive Committee, and today still serve on the Copiah Lincoln Community College Foundation Board.
