Detailed description is Christmas in Action Spartanburg is a non-profit organization that offers free home repair assistance elderly, disabled, or otherwise disadvantaged homeowners in the greater Spartanburg community to provide for their continued safety and independence. Christmas In Action is a 501 (c)3 non-profit organization that rehabilitates the houses of elderly, disabled, and otherwise disadvantaged homeowners, to provide for their continues safety and independence. Through our repairs we strive to improve not only the condition of the home, but also the homeowner’s situation. Over the last fourteen years Christmas In Action has repaired 593 homes in seventeen Spartanburg County communities. These homes have been repaired on our biannual Rebuilding Days (October and April). Our organization has increased its services as the need for home repair assistance continues to grow. Individual Response Action projects are now being completed on a monthly basis to continue providing homeowner’s continued safety and independence year round. Christmas In Action has recently partnered up with five local universities for our Young And Old Project. College students learn various home improvement skills at Lowe’s Home Improvement then complete Individual Response Action repairs for our homeowners. Christmas In Action improves Spartanburg County communities by providing safety and independence for elderly, disabled, and otherwise disadvantaged homeowners, and increases awareness and understanding of our senior population living in substandard housing.
