Detailed description is Welcome to the official Facebook page for Classics at Leeds | School of Languages, Cultures and Societies | University of Leeds Classics at Leeds is a friendly community of (currently) thirteen members of academic staff all dedicated to providing our undergraduates and postgraduates with the very best student experience. From August 2014, the department has been incorporated into the School of Languages, Cultures and Societies. This organisational arrangement provides both practical, administrative support and opportunities for the development of our research and teaching interests in the reception of the classical world. The School is one of the largest of its kind in the UK with more than 2000 students and approximately 140 staff.. . We have around 200 undergraduate students reading for degrees in Single Honours Classical Civilisation and a variety of Joint Honours combinations. At postgraduate level, there are around 20 students studying for an MRes or a PhD full-time or part-time.. . Most of our students come from the UK, but in recent years we have also welcomed students from Italy, Greece, Cyprus, Canada, the US, Trinidad and Tobago, and Taiwan, and our ERASMUS Exchanges with universities in Greece, Italy and Germany contribute to a cosmopolitan atmosphere, as well as offering opportunities for Leeds students to spend a year studying abroad. We also regularly have a number of mature students studying at all levels.. .
