Detailed description is Purpose: Promoting International friendship by assisting Macedonian schools with donated funds, resources and networking opportunities. Coordinating with Macedonian schools and youth organizations since 2004, we have installed thirteen chalkboards for needy classrooms. In addition we have provided countless school supplies such as: maps, globes, first aid equipment, science material, books, pens, computer equipment, Frisbees, soccer balls and most importantly, USA friendship. So far we have worked with four schools and four towns and villages located in Southwest Macedonia in and around the Ohrid area. We also have teamed up with local Peace Corp workers on a couple of occasions.. . The effort started as a labor of love using personal funds. But to our surprise friends and family wished to help and kindly made additional contributions to the cause. We are a tax exempt 501(c)(3) public charity. . . The Republic of Macedonia is a land-locked country that won its independence when Yugoslavia fell apart in the 1990s. It is located in southeast Europe, north of Greece, east of Albania and west of Bulgaria.. . The people are friendly and optimistic about the future of their small country of 2 million. They support the education of their children but schools have limited budgets. For instance, the average teacher earns approximately $400 a month. Whenever we arrange a photo session with the donated material the children are eager to express their appreciation.. . Macedonia is a multi-cultural society consisting of: Macedonians, Albanians, Roma, Vlachs, Turks and others.. . If you wish more information about this project we urge you to contact us by email: tlineham@comcast.net. Tom Lineham from Olympia, Washington USA, is the coordinator.. . .
