I have been in the meat cutting business since I was 10 years old. My dad started processing local beef in our small plant in 1976 and I worked there for him until 1989. Because dad’s processing plant was just a seasonal business and I had a growing family, I needed a year-round income. This forced me to seek work outside the family business so I went to work in the meat department at a local grocery store. I always knew that eventually I would return to run the family business and in 1998, I came back to work with dad for a year before he retired. In 1999 I took over the reins and with the help of my mother, my two children and the support of my wife, began to run the family business.
