The College Counseling Center at Aspen High School in Aspen, Colorado is honored to host the Colorado Western Slope College Fair every year on our Aspen School District campus.. . The fair is the largest (and growing!) college exhibition in the area which spans west of Denver starting at the Continental Divide to the Utah border. The area supports an extremely diverse rural population where approximately 89,000 high school students attend school in a variety of distinct school districts. This provides a unique opportunity for college representative to meet a demographically and socio-economically diverse population within our state. (Please see our website for more information.). . Over 2,700 students, parents and school counselors from 60 different high schools are present at the fair every year. The attendees are able to choose from over 275 college, university, two-year, technical school, gap year and service learning program representatives from across the country and beyond. These representatives answer questions about degrees and programs offered, explain their schools application process and their requirements of high school students. They help students get a feel of what their schools are like and encourage aspiring students to make a connection. . . Attendees can also choose from over 23 tailored workshops becoming better informed about the college process, financial aid and FIFSA, college and the student athlete, college access for Latino students (presented in Spanish), nursing programs, Art and Design colleges and elite schools to name a few.
