Detailed description is A summer academy for motivated and talented high school students residing in Oklahoma who are interested in Engineering and Applied Mathematics. The CU Engineering and Applied Mathematics Summer Academy completed its first summer academy at Cameron University on July 1 2016 titled "CU Aerospace Engineering and Applied Mathematics" This year the academy was a ten day event with 23 highly motivated and talented Oklahoma high school students. The academy introduced them to principles of aerospace engineering and used mathematics in problem solving and design activities. . . The academy’s primary goal is to provide high school students with enrichment programs and attract them to STEM related fields. Students will engage in hands-on activities in mechanics, robotics, and rockets. This academy partners with Fort Sill and the Cameron University NASA program to expose students to possible Engineering and Applied Math career opportunities with the government and private industry.. . This academy is funded by the Oklahoma Board of Regents and it is free to all participants.
