As an equine musculoskeletal therapist I use massage, myofascial release, shiatsu, acupressure, spinal freedom, soft tissue mobilisation, joint mobilisation, craniosacral, lymphatic drainage and mobilisation/stretching exercises of the poll, neck and limbs to allow fluid movement throughout the horse's body. . The horse's muscles work in pairs and groups, any muscle spasm, strain or tension can disrupt the fluidity and create imbalance in the horse's motion which leads to compensatory motion increasing strain on other muscles, joints, tendons and ligaments. Undesirable behaviour issues may be a sign there is something wrong. . Within the accessible superficial muscles are lymph vessels, veins, meridians (primo vascular system) and nerves.
