I will never forget the day that I received a . phone call from my sister in the early dawn. hours of a Tuesday morning, and learned that . my brother of 21 years had taken his life. . . It was then that I realized that there was a. very real and serious need that had to be . addressed. Mental health was not just . ‘in the mind’. It was a condition.. . I searched for answers everywhere. My . pursuit of a solution was relentless. . . What more could I have done? . . Did anyone have a cure? . . Can we do more than ‘manage’ the . symptoms? . . Why are so many suffering? . . I was astounded by the answers, and . surprised by their simplicity. . . The entire focus of my practice shifted as . I utilized my new-found knowledge for my. patients. . . I’ll never forget my first teen client. I was . contacted by the mother of a sweet . young girl of 14 years. . . Her daughter was struggling so deeply that . she had even had thoughts of harming her own family. . . We immediately got her the help she needed. . .
