Detailed description is DRIVE FOR SMILES creates expeditions using uniquely customized Land Rovers to raise funds that benefit children and our planet. On November 22, 2014, a group of approximately 29 Land Rover Enthusiast from across the world will arrive in Santiago, Chile to start the 4 week 2014 Expedition of DRIVE FOR SMILES via a portion of the Pan-American Highway while driving 12 specially equipped Land Rovers. These enthusiasts have donated their time, money, and resources to create the specially equipped Land Rovers, which through the international attention the expedition is receiving, and the donations received, will bring Smiles to so many children that need something to Smile about.. . As the Team travels throughout South America they be visiting 4 area’s the Nature Conservancy is working in that are directly affected by donations to the Expedition. Those with an appreciation for culture, breathtaking scenery, food, and geographical landmarks will not want to miss our blog and social media updates reporting on the landscape, climate change, water resource issues, and forestry as the team travels to Colombia. Teachers, Individuals, and Group Leaders are signing up for our blog to follow our expedition so they can learn about our raidly-changing world, about the continent of South America, and how humans are impacting our planet. The Team will also join Voices in visiting the children in hospitals of Bogota, distributing jackets and at a Christmas Concert Event planned just for the children and the arrival of the Expedition.. . Volunteers from around the world are also organizing events to encourage donations and support this year’s expedition including bike races, dog walks, bake sales, volleyball games, and private parties. Members from the Team of the 2014 Expedition are attending several events, car shows, and festivals to raise funds and awareness. Whether it’s a $25 donation to Voices to provide puppet shows, games, crafts, and a jacket for each child or our 1+2=Life Water Challenge. The Entire Team is hoping to raise $300,000 dollars towards this year’s Pan American Expedition. . . . . This year’s expedition is excited to be a small part of bringing smiles to children who endure so much yet inspire those who love and care for them.
