Dowlen Sound was Founded in 1979 by audio engineer Bret Dowlen, and has grown from a small, grassroots organization into a full-service production and events company with national and international clients.. HISTORY. . Fueled by a passion for quality audio production , Bret Dowlen began designing audio equipment systems for local Denver events. DSI gained local exposure as a reliable, knowledgeable production resource, and in 1984, DSI partnered with Red Rocks Amphitheater for the first time.. . Dowlen Sound continued to grow throughout the 1980s and 1990s, adapting to a changing market to win contracts with Red Rocks, Mile High Stadium, the Pepsi Center and the Colorado Symphony, continuing to successfully take on new clients of all sizes.. . In 2013, Dowlen Sound purchased the assets of The Opera Shop (d.b.a. InOvation Group). Dowlen Sound, now operates under the name DSI Event Group, Inc. and acquired a new 32,000-square foot facility located at 6400 North Broadway in Denver, Colorado.
