Detailed description is A non-profit organization dedicated to the study of children’s social and cognitive development. The DUCK Lab consists of a team of researchers (professors, graduate students, and undergraduate students) who are interested in several aspects of 2- to 10-year-old children’s development, such as:. . *How children make social judgments about other people. *Sources of information that children use to learn about the world around them. *The ability to understand and use rules. *Memory development and behavioral control. . Our research provides insight about children's skill and strategy development that informs educational curricula and interventions. Participants in our studies are volunteers in the Greensboro community who generously offer their time to help us run our studies. We greatly appreciate the support that we have received from each and every parent and child in the Greensboro community!. . If you haven't signed up with us already and you are interested in participating, please contact us via phone or e-mail (and direct your query to Ally, our lab manager).. . Visits can be arranged at your convenience – mornings, afternoons, and weekends. Studies typically take 30 minutes to 1 hour and we provide free and convenient access to parking, as well as refreshments and small prizes for your child. All of our studies are conducted as fun games that children typically enjoy and you are welcome to watch your child participate the entire time. . . This page will keep parents informed about ongoing research in our center and also provide scientific information and resources on child development.
