Simply, Forest School is a specialised 'hands on' learning approach that offer all people regular, prolonged opportunities to connect with the natural environment through specifically chosen activities. This leads participants to develop both inter and intra-personal skills such as self- esteem, team work, resilience and curiosity.. . An early years specialist teacher for over 4 years, I embarked on my Forest School journey in the summer of 2015. However cliché it may sound after my initial training week I was hooked! . . Upon discussing my journey with friends and family throughout the rest of the year, two key things became apparent. Firstly, outside of Education very little is known about Forest Schools and how utterly fabulous it is and secondly how many people in our society were being denied their innate instinct of connecting with nature for so many different reasons. . . In January 2017 it was time for action and Eco Ed was born! A fully inclusive Forest School, passionate about reaching out into local communities to reconnect them with nature; young or old!. . This is our mission, our motivation, our love and our community. .
