Detailed description is Cincinnati's second oldest magnet school. Fairview School is one of only a few Cincinnati Public Schools to receive the state’s highest rating. Schools that receive an excellent rating must meet or exceed performance, attendance, yearly progress and, where applicable, graduation standards. Designated as a "Center of Excellence" by the American Association of Teachers of German. Pupils consistently rank among the highest on the Ohio proficiency tests in Cincinnati Public Schools and score well above the national norm. . . Students completing 6th grade at Fairview go on to excel in area public, private and parochial schools. A large percentage of Fairview students pass the Walnut Hills test.
