Detailed description is The Parent Academy is a city-wide initiative led by the Fall River Public Schools in partnership with businesses, community agencies, educational institutions and faith-based organizations. We are excited to be in a partnership that will bring many FREE learning opportunities to our parents, family members and other caring adults throughout our community beginning this coming January 2016. . . Studies have shown that consistent parental involvement is a major factor in determining a student's academic success. Our Parent Academy will offer families a broad selection of FREE educational opportunities designed to help students succeed AND help parents attain their own personal and professional goals. Workshops, one-day seminars and other types of courses have been selected that address the issues and skill needs our parents and families have said are important. To make these programs accessible, these opportunities will be offered at a variety of locations throughout the city. . . These are exciting times for our city and each of us has an important role to play.
