Detailed description is The Montpelier Senior Activity Center, partnering with Just Basics, Inc. has launched a nutritious meal program in a social setting for area seniors. FEAST is a partnership between the Montpelier Senior Activity Center (MSAC) and Just Basic's Inc. (JBI), which has come to fruition after years of planning and months of renovation. FEAST is about caring for our seniors by providing nourishment for the body and spirit. This volunteer run program provides home delivered meals for Seniors 5 days a week, as well as on site meals for Seniors Tuesdays & Fridays. FEAST also prepares a café style meal on Thursday that is open to everyone, regardless of age or affiliation for the low cost of $5 - 8.50 per meal. All proceeds go to support this Senior Meals partnership. Tuesday & Friday's senior meals are at no charge for those over 60, though a $5 donation is appreciated. Guests and those under 60 are asked to pay $6. On Tuesdays, Seniors can arrive early to enjoy MSAC's own Swingin' Over Sixty Band, playing tunes from the 1930's - 1960's, starting at 10:30 am. Food preparation is led by Chef Justin Turcotte of Good Taste Catering, making this a three way partnership, necessary to produce the volume of meals needed each day for our Seniors. Another partner is Dog River Farm of Berlin, who has donated 405 pounds of vegetables to the Senior Meals program since July! Donations are always appreciated for this venture, and can be mailed to JBI at 137 Main Street, Montpelier, VT 05602, with a notation for Senior Meals in your check's memo line. reservations for on site meals & Café meals on Thursdays can be made by calling 262-6288.
