Detailed description is 2017 Program Dates: Sunday, July 2 to Saturday, August 5, 2017. Please visit www.fessenden.org/ell for more information! Overview. The Fessenden Summer English Language Learning Program is a unique English immersion program for English Language Learners. For five weeks, 45 boys and girls between the ages of 10–15 years old become a close-knit, family-like community. The multi-cultural environment presents priceless opportunities for students to learn about different countries and customs while strengthening their English abilities.. . Academic Classes. On weekday mornings, students engage in classes taught by our team of language specialists with class sizes of 8 or less. Our academic curriculum challenges students at their specific levels, empowering them to demonstrate progressively greater competencies in the speaking, listening, reading, and writing in English.. . Enrichment Programs. On weekday afternoons, students participate in a variety of programs designed for students to communicate with classmates and facilitators while working toward a common goal using English. Programs include, but are not limited to: Photography and Digital Journaling, Art, Environmental Science, Cooperative Team Building and Language Games, Video Production, and Understanding Today's World.. . Residential Life. Dorm life incorporates games and activities using our state-of-the-art facilities. Our 41-acre campus includes tennis courts, playing fields, swimming pools, gymnasiums, computer labs, as well as a movie theater. Dorm parents supervise and facilitate weekend trips in the Boston area. Our “traveling classroom” takes students on a long weekend camping trip in New Hampshire, as well as a long weekend in New York City. Please view the following links for more information.
