Anthony Taylor, opened the Food Gallery in 1991 in a small store at 3702 River Dr. located in downtown Columbia, a predominately African American neighborhood. Anthony had been inspired by his mother, Minnie Taylor who in the 80's and early ‘90's ran a sandwich cafe and convenient store from the same location and gradually began to include southern cuisine which was highly favored by the local community.. .
