In their first issue, the owners wrote "We take pleasure in presenting a new journal to the citizens of Fort Morgan and the surrounding county this week. Our increased prosperity will amply support the Times, and we trust that its first issue will meet a friendly reception. Making no promises, except to stand by the best interests of the community, we send the Times forth to paralyze the enemies of our great state. The Times will not be the organ of any party or clique, but will support all that is calculated to build up the country and lighten the burdens of people. Outside of this, the Times will be run for our own amusement, and the general enlargement of the firm s pocketbook.". . In 1907, R.B. Spencer bought The Times, and the next year converted it to a daily newspaper as it remains to this day published Monday through Saturday except major holidays.. . Throughout the years there have only been seven daily newspaper publishers of The Times. Following R.B. Spencer was his son, Robert W.
