Detailed description is Unique Furniture, Objects, Art FR Gillette (a.k.a. Rick Gillette) enjoyed an over 20 year career in the fashion and beauty industry as a well known hair & make-up artist working with such great photographers as Avedon, Newton, Penn and countless others for Condé Nast magazines and major advertising campaigns. He then set his sights on fashion and portrait photography, and shot both editorially and commercially for several years.. . By the late nineteen nineties he decided to try his hand at the field he had always been drawn to, Interior Design. When the 21st Century arrived he was decorating apartments in Manhattan and Brooklyn, and in 2002, was commissioned to design an extensive renovation of a home in Darien, CT. He has completed several such projects over the years, most recently the re-design and furnishing of four Residential Building Lobby’s and two Residential Building Lounge design projects in Manhattan, as Associate Designer for the Brooklyn based firm Vella-Décor. In 2012 he started spending time in Hudson, NY and saw an opportunity to fulfill another dream. . . FRG OBJECTS & DESIGN at 217 Warren Street, Hudson N.Y. is the result of FR Gillette’s love of Interior Design and a desire to reveal the potential beauty he finds in often under valued and cast off mid-century furniture, vintage lighting fixtures, glass and ceramic objects. The pieces are re-imagined, repaired, re-finished, re-covered whatever it takes to achieve the intended result. All re-envisioned pieces are now being offered in a gallery setting in Hudson, NY. Custom furniture and lighting designs are also available, as is art by both esteemed and up and coming artists..
