Detailed description is "Retriever" is a 52' sailing ketch owned and operated by the Boy Scouts of America. Open to any Troop, Venture Crew, Post, Ship, or other youth groups Ahoy! Come set sail aboard Michigan Crossroads Council's newest addition to the Outdoor Adventures Program!. . "Retriever", a 52' ketch, is an offshore sailing vessel where youth will learn the fundamentals of sailboat handling, steering, waterway navigation, marine safety, and various cruising techniques used by seasoned sailors!. . Based in its home port in Straits Harbor in Mackinaw City, MI, "Retriever" will embark on excursions to various destinations throughout the northern Great Lakes. Planned packages include day cruises, weekend cruises, and week-long cruises. The "Retriever" is designed to accommodate co-ed crews (2 staff & 14 participants); Charter Packages will be available for any BSA unit or other youth organization. The Great Lakes Sailing Adventure is designed for Sea Scouts, older Boy Scouts, Varsity Scouts or Venturers.. . Participants must be at least 13 years of age by September 1st of the year they participate for Week-Long Packages.. . Participants must be registered Boy Scouts, Venturers, Varsity Scouts or Sea Scouts for Weekend Packages.
