Detailed description is GUFD is the volunteer fire department serving Gateway and the Unaweep Canyon of Western Colorado. Covering 900 square miles of Land. We are the volunteer fire department serving Gateway and the Unaweep Canyon of Western Colorado. We serve approximately 900 square miles of open range, farming, BLM, forest, residential and ranching areas protecting the lives and property of more than 50 residents of the Gateway community and western portions of the Whitewater community. Our services include fire fighting, EMS, advanced life support, rescue and community awareness.
