The Child Care Resource and Referral Program provides support, resources and referral services for child care providers, parents and caregivers in all communities on Haida Gwaii.
We also work with community groups to provide workshops and to promote quality childcare choices that meet the needs of local families.

CCRR can help with starting up home childcare services, applying for Child Care Subsidy, and referrals to local licensed child care providers.
If child care providers need help with administrative issues like contracts, policies and fees we can help with that too.
Home and facility support visits are also a big part of what we do.

Alicia is a teacher and worked in schools and Daycares in the lower mainland before moving to Haida Gwaii 3 years ago.
She has recently completed her training with Options for Sexual Health to be a certified sexual health educator.
In her new role with CCRR and the Islands Wellness Society she plans to use this training to do abuse prevention training for the very young and Sexual health education in local schools linking in to all the other great community programs already on the go within the society..
She will also be working on getting her Early Childhood Educators Certification and hopes to help those in the childcare field as well as all the families that depend on the to get the training, resources and support they need.
