Detailed description is Our mission is end the homeless veteran crisis in America, starting with the state of Colorado and put an end to horses being sent to "kill-lots". Helping Horses, Helping Heroes of the Pikes Peak Region (H4P2R) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization headquartered in the state of Colorado, dedicated to permanently ending Veteran homelessness by providing apartment-style and single family homes to our state's homeless and at-risk Veterans; basic necessities; healthy, daily meals; employment counseling; job training and placement; medical and mental health care; and other services necessary to assist these Veterans in regaining their self-confidence and independence in order to successfully reintegrate back into society.. . H4P2R is also dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of horses from both deplorable living conditions and local "kill lots". Once the horses are rescued and evaluated, they will begin the process of receiving any necessary medical care and being rehabilitated. Upon completion of any necessary treatment and rehabilitation, they will either be adopted out to new, caring families if able, or will stay at our ranch and provide equine services and therapy for all Colorado Veterans, active duty members, reservists, National Guardsmen, retirees, and their families in order to assist them in coping with the unique challenges of military and post-military life.
