In 1983, Kurt Hilbers, Leroy’s oldest son, joined the business after first graduating from Chico State and a period of working in other arenas. Together they formed L&K Construction and expanded into commercial contracting.. . Starting in 1984, Leroy’s remaining sons, Glenn and Larry also joined the L&K team; first Glenn, in 1984 as a superintendent, and then Larry, a licensed civil engineer, in 1985 after graduating from UC Davis.
