Detailed description is (Free) Hindi Learning Program The 2011 Kean STARTALK Hindi Student Program is a free three-week language/culture immersion program focused on introducing various aspects of India’s history and past and contemporary culture and social life as the context for language acquisition. . . The Student Program will be three-weeks in duration and will be held during weekdays (Mondays through Fridays); the program begins on June 20, 2011 and ends on July 9, 2011. . . The program will embrace student-centered learning approaches focusing on acquiring language in real world contexts while developing insights about the products, practices and perspectives of the Indian culture in the target language and in each of the three modes of communication. . . Participants will be able to meet the linguistic and culture goals as demonstrated by their performance on multiple assessment measures. . . Key features of the program include integration of the latest technologies into the learning, assessment and teaching process; ongoing use of multiple assessments that can provide evidence of increasing student proficiency in both language and culture; and the use of Project-Based Learning (PBL) approaches in daily instruction resulting into creation of a summative student project.
