Detailed description is Kinetic Steam Works is a California, Bay Area 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to steam powered kinetic art. We came together in 2005 to explore and repurpose the artifacts of clockwork modernity. Kinetic Steam Works is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) educational arts organization working to preserve and promote steam powered heritage, artifacts, and technologies through the restoration of vintage steam engines. We teach the skills and knowledge needed for both steam engine restoration and operation, and we produce industrial art performances that utilize steam engines and steam technologies. Kinetic Steam Works is a group of fabricators, engineers, artists and self-described steam enthusiasts of diverse talents and skills.. . As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit educational arts organization, we fund our operating expenses through commissioned appearances for the operation of steam equipment and artistic creations.
