It was chartered on July 15th, 1906 — only 24 years after the first Knights of Columbus Council was founded by Fr. Michael J. McGivney at St. Mary’s Church in NewHaven, Connecticut. The council’s first Grand Knight and Chaplain were E.C. Ferguson and Reverend C.A. O’Reilly. Its Charter membership consisted of 61 men from local churches.. Most of our members are citizens of Edwardsville and Glen Carbon. The Edwardsville 4th Degree Assembly 0225, Daughters of Isabella O’Reilly Circle and Fred Mills Home Corporation are established within the council home. Edwardsville Council has over 290 active members and is strong and active in council, church, community, youth and family activities..
