Detailed description is The mission at the school is to uphold all dancers to a first class training and instruction in various styles and technique. Lauren White’s School of Dance strives and makes every effort to provide each dancer with the knowledge and deep understanding of a variety of disciplines. The school offers an accredited, experienced, and professionally taught instruction in creative movement / pre-school, ballet/pointe, jazz (all styles), tap, lyrical/contemporary, modern, and ballroom. Classes run from ages 3 to adult.. Lauren White’s School of dance each dancer will learn proper dance technique as well as appropriate terminology within the given discipline being taught. Every class fosters self-confidence, self-expression, and an appreciation of the art of dance No matter what age or what style of dance, it is believed that everyone can benefit from the study of the arts. A loving, safe, and encouraging environment allows students to develop and forever grow upon listening skills, fine/ gross motor skills, social/ emotional/ physical skills and what we call the Four C’s! Coordination, Concentration, Cooperation, and Communication. Lauren began dancing at the age of five under the tutelage of Judith Clark. Lauren began her teaching career at the age of fifteen. In 1999, Lauren graduated from the three year intensive Dance Education Training Course sponsored by the Dance Teacher’s Club of Boston, Inc. and the American Society. She then became a club member herself in 2001. Lauren continued her studies on to Goucher College in Maryland, where she earned a B.A. in Dance Education. While studying at Goucher, Lauren further developed the skills and knowledge necessary for teaching dance to children. Lauren received extensive training in methodology of teaching technique in various styles of modern, ballet, and jazz, as well as dance composition and dance education. In addition, Lauren also had the opportunity to perform in various works and in schools and other community programs throughout Baltimore City and Baltimore County. Since returning to the Boston area, Lauren has continuously been teaching dance in various disciplines. She also holds a Massachusetts State teaching license in Dance and Elementary Education..
