Detailed description is New session Oct 24th- Dec 19th, register on the first day of skating. Registration ongoing. All level skaters welcome. Long Lake Skating School is a Non-Profit corporation established to promote figure skating in the local area. Each Fall-Winter the school offers two 8 weeks sessions of lessons and practice ice. The school attempts to keep lesson cost low by taking sponsorships, in-kind donations and fundraising. Snow Plow Sam and USFS Basic Skills are the focus of the school teaching program but it also serves skaters moving onto the free style levels. Each session end with a Show off to demonstrate skills learned and mastered. The school also participates in the annual "Skate Your Heart Out" competition in Hallowell. Laurie Green, the school's director, was a competitive skater and still is graceful and skilled on the ice.
