Detailed description is The Student Resource Co-Op provides books, food, life skill classes, and clergy wear to seminary students at Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary. "Now the whole group of those who believed were of one heart and soul, and no one claimed private ownership of any possessions, but everything they owned was held in common." Acts 4:32. The LR LTSS Student Resource Co-Op is an organization that helps seminary students live out their calling to go to seminary. The Co-op has a food pantry for students who struggle with food insecurity. This ministry is also supported by the campus community and Synods across the ELCA. The Co-op also provides gently used clergy wear, which can be a financial burden on seminary students who need clerical collars and albs at their teaching parish congregations and on internship. The Co-op also provides students with gently used books for classes. Books can cost students more than $300 dollars a semester, so this is a resource students often are in need of.. In addition to physical resources (food, clothes, and books) the student resource co-op also helps students learn life skills that will help them in their lives as leaders in the Church. Sewing classes, health food, car maintenance, and financial wellness are also workshops or referrals the Co-op can help students with.. This ministry for future leaders in the Church is impossible without support. We are currently seeking non-perishable food donations, books, and gently used clergy wear. . . We are located on the first floor of the Beam Building of Lenoir-Rhyne's Columbia campus at LTSS.
